“The Senegalese/Swedish duo Sousou & Maher Cissoko have toured in 31 countries, collaborated with Timbuktu, and performed at the Polar Prize ceremony. They use a 22-string kora as their main instrument and write songs in five different languages.
As a concert experience, it is delicate and groovy (…) Talking about the joy of playing music can easily become a cliché, but here is the answer. The duo shines together as if in sheer happiness, a visual boost to what we hear. The extraordinary sound is a unique experience. I feel both exhausted and energized at the same time. Wow!”
